Hot Stone Massage uses smooth, water-sanitised basalt stones — a volcanic rock chosen specifically because it retains heat evenly for long periods. The stones are heated to a therapeutic 50–55°C, tested carefully against the therapist's own forearm, and either placed on strategic points along the spine, palms and between the toes, or held in the hand and glided across the body with warm oil.
